I have and know some amazingly talented people, who have beautiful gifts and abilities, but yet they hold onto the fear of success. Their passion to share and expand and heal is unquestionable, but their own ability to heal and expand holds this seed of doubt and fear.
‘Will I, could I, should I, we can all find a sentence that could begin with one of those, and often we then place boundaries based on our own fears of rejection and failure to limit our success.
We create that failure though, we have set that as an outcome based on our fears and allow that to manifest into our reality.
If something did not work then learn from it, something that you have run, taught or written will not resonate with everyone and you have to accept that there will be some people who come up against their own fears and reflect that back in your work.
As soon as people start talking about success and money an automatic association of greed and unethical practices comes into people’s minds. This again comes from a fear in our society that if someone is talking about money then it must relate to them wanting power, control and financial domination.
I have realised a few fears recently:
I have fear of my own voice
I have fear of others reaction to what I do
I have fear of stepping into my ‘self’ space and standing up and saying yes I accept all of what I have to offer
I have fear of being successful
I fear what I have to offer has no worth.
Ouch!
Yet true, but I have acknowledged them and I am working with them.
Allowing these fears to manifest in our work and daily routine creates financial boundaries, which in turn creates dissatisfaction and a cycle of disharmony...I would love to do that but only for that many people, what if they don’t enjoy it, maybe its best I don’t do it.
You can feel the excitement of something new, maybe an idea, a project, a change in career or direction approaching, as it looms towards you this sudden unknown feeling of safety and discomfort manifests itself in your solar plexus and then before you know it all your power and excitement in drained away with the fear? Anyone been there before?
As your mind takes over and you analyse it to death the once great idea and opportunity is safely stored away for a ‘better’ time allowing your fear based control to take charge.
Although I have fears I have sat straight in front of them addressed them and worked with them and asked why they are there. They are not there to harm me or ruin me, sometime they are there to warn or guide me.
Spending time with your fears and actually writing them down associated with a particular topic, project or new idea can allow you to work out what areas do not work or need adjusting, and give you a greater understanding of what it is you want to achieve out of your goal.
If you fear talking to 20 people, then why not aim for 10?
But acknowledge that is what you have chosen for your highest good at that point, and congratulate yourself in achieving that goal.
Be aware though and don’t allow that decision to be based on fear and restrictive growth. If you know you are capable of talking to 20 people then do it...if it is fear of not being able to get 20 people to attend your talk then address that fear, work with it and let it go or it will manifest its self in the reality and failure due to fear will become a reality.
What could have been an amazing talk for 10 turned out to be a failure of only 10, and all those who attended with pick up on your feeling of under achieving and failure.
Allow yourself the space to work with your fears, your goals and the boundaries you place around yourself and your path. Create time to work with these fears and releasing them so you can step into your power and manifest the goals you know you deserve.
